The international improvisators tour Nazioarteko Inprobisatzaileen Bira has been presented today in press conference in the Palace of the Condestable in Pamplona, the city where the tour will begin. It will take place from the 9th to the 14th of October and there will be performances in different locations everyday: Iruñea, Erandio, Hernani, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Baiona and Donostia-San Sebastian will host the event.

Maider Beloki, the councillor of Culture and Education of the City of Pamplona, and Julio Soto, bertsolari who will participate in the tour, have revealed the details of the project. It has been developed by Mintzola Ahozko Lantegia and Lanku Kultur Zerbitzuak: "Mintzola works in order to promote bertsolaritza within the Basque Country and beyond, as well as getting knowledge about other international improvised verse singing expressions. On the other hand, Lanku wants to organize shows coming from innovative proposals. As a result, the union of these synergies have brought this very interesting project". Other local institutions' support has been essential as well.

Punto cubano, payada and bertsolarismo

On this occasion, we will have the opportunity to enjoy the work of the Cuban repentista Tomasita Quiala and the Argentinian payadora Araceli Argüello. "Tomasita Quiala is one of the most outstanding names of the punto cubano. She has already been in Pamplona, since she participated in Bertsoaroa in 1998, event organized by the association Nafarroako Bertsozale Elkartea. Despite her youth, Araceli Argüello has also a significant career since by the age of 23, she has already been more than 10 immersed in the world of the payada" remarked Beloki.

Along with them, the bertsolaris Amets Arzallus, Jone Uria, Julio Soto, Maialen Lujanbio and Xabi Igoa will sing; two bertsolaris each time and three in the last show. Iker Iriarte and Maite Berriozabal will host the performances.
